Custom Columns and States
Define workflow stages around the language of the project: backlog, blocked, test, polish, ship, or whatever the team actually says.
Tools | Project Update
A customizable local project board for organizing active work without sending sensitive planning data to external services.
Current Focus
Epitaph Labs is building the Epitaph Library Kanban tooling as a reusable desktop Kanban system with encrypted-at-rest board storage, project templates, file-change scanning, work notes, and local automation for keeping sprint cards aligned with actual code changes. The customization layer is planned around adaptable columns, card fields, labels, templates, and project vocabulary so each board can match the way a team already works.
Interface Preview
These preview panels show the intended desktop shape: a local Kanban board on one side and a customization workspace for tuning how each project behaves.
Customization
The customization direction is intentionally practical: tune the board structure, card metadata, visual labels, templates, and automation behavior so a game sprint, software release, content pipeline, or internal ops board can each feel native.
Define workflow stages around the language of the project: backlog, blocked, test, polish, ship, or whatever the team actually says.
Add project-specific fields for owner, area, priority, milestone, build risk, affected files, or notes needed for review.
Start new boards from reusable templates for game features, bug passes, content drops, release prep, or internal projects.
Shape how file-change scanning suggests updates, attaches work notes, and keeps cards aligned with actual project changes.
Tooling
The tool is designed for desktop use where private planning, assistant context, and real code changes need to stay close together.
Board data is stored locally with secure defaults so sensitive planning information does not need an external cloud board.
CompleteCustom project templates and setup paths make the Kanban workflow reusable across game, software, and studio production work.
CompleteLocal automation scans file changes and helps keep sprint cards aligned with the work actually happening in the repo.
Ready for reviewTesting
Testing for the Kanban tool is available now through the included local smoke-test workflow. Broader hands-on review can begin immediately for desktop use.
Short Version
Epitaph Labs is developing a secure local Kanban tool for organizing project work without relying on external cloud services. The tool is internally ready, with encrypted storage, reusable project setup, file-watch automation, and smoke testing already in place. Testing for the Kanban workflow is available now.
